What We Mean by “The Four I’s”

Involvement

Constant communication is the cornerstone of trust. It is imperative that the associate assigned to a case stays in constant communication with the client. Even when there are no substantive updates, it is critical to keep clients informed and the lines of communication open.

Regular touchpoints build trust and strengthen our relationships. Since all but a few of the firm’s cases are in an active phase, there should usually be something new and material to report to the client at least every two to three weeks.

Intelligence

The associate is the primary conduit of intelligence on any given case. They must gather all necessary information in a timely manner and disseminate accordingly.

The associate is expected to notify the partner(s) on a case promptly, within 24 hours in most cases, if there are any material updates or new information they receive from a client, so that we can promptly collaborate and act/respond accordingly.

Integrity

The associate must own their case from beginning to end – from intake through resolution. This means that they are aware of all applicable deadlines, statutes of limitations, and pending tasks, and that the associate timely addresses them.

Complete ownership ensures accountability and excellence in every aspect of case management, protecting our clients’ interests at every stage.

Intensity

The firm’s intake process is intense and requires extreme efficacy from the associate. We remind ourselves that we’re dealing with people in crisis and conflict. A response with alacrity and empathy is imperative.

This means not letting critical processes languish while important deadlines approach. Every client deserves our immediate attention and unwavering commitment to their cause.
