Ms. Healey-Kagan is a Partner at Filippatos PLLC who has over 15 years of experience representing employees and labor unions in individual and class actions against companies in various industries, including information technology, pharmaceuticals, hospitality, healthcare, banking, real estate, and education, as well as municipalities. She has extensive experience litigating in federal and state court on both the trial court and appellate level. She also has significant experience negotiating settlements, including mediation with Magistrate Judges, government agencies, and private mediators.
Before joining Filippatos PLLC in 2024, Ms. Healey-Kagan was a Junior Partner at a boutique civil rights law firm serving the New York and Washington, D.C. metro areas.
Education
Ms. Healey-Kagan received her Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School in 2008, where she was Managing Editor of the Brooklyn Journal of International Law, a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, and an Edward V. Sparer Public Interest Fellow. She also published a Note entitled “Morality v. Reality: The struggle to effectively fight HIV/AIDS and respect human rights” analyzing various approaches to HIV/AIDS prevention worldwide.
Ms. Healey-Kagan received a B.S. in Policy Analyses and Management from Cornell University in 2005, where she served as President of the Cornell University Student Assembly, participated in a Congressional Internship with U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer, and received the Sandy Pollack Award from the Tompkins County Human Rights Commission for her advocacy for the LGBTQ community.

Other Interests
Erica is a Long Island native who currently lives in Brooklyn, NY, with her wife and their adopted French Bulldog, Stewart. She enjoys long-distance running, musical theater, and travel, both domestically and internationally, especially to national parks and other opportunities to celebrate our natural surroundings. Erica is also a long-time fan of the New York Mets and all things baseball.
