Mahnoor J. Khan joined Filippatos PLLC in 2023. Ms. Khan holds a Juris Doctorate from Cornell Law School and is passionate about advocating for the rights of individuals in the workplace and protecting them from unjust discrimination and retaliation.
Prior Experience
Prior to joining Filippatos PLLC, Ms. Khan worked at Khalid Jawed Khan & Advocates and Fazle Ghani Advocates in Pakistan as a litigation associate where she dealt with complex issues relating to tax law, white collar defense, and commercial contracts. She has also interned at the Competition Commission of Pakistan, the Office of the Attorney General for Pakistan, the United Nations in New York, and the Legal Aid Society in New York. Ms. Khan is the author of “The Broken Promise of ‘Never Again’: Myanmar’s Genocide Analyzed Under the U.N. Genocide Convention and the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda’s Interpretation of the Convention,” 53 Cornell International Law Journal 799 (2020).
Education
Ms. Khan holds a Juris Doctorate from Cornell Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from New York University (magna cum laude).
Licensed Jurisdictions
Ms. Khan is licensed to practice in the State of New York, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of New York, and the High Courts of Sindh, Pakistan.
Languages & Other Interests
Ms. Khan is fluent in English, Urdu, and can speak intermediate French. In her free time, she likes to travel, read, visit museums, blog about restaurants in New York, and spend time with family and friends.
