Senior Associate
Sr. Associate w/ Filippatos PLLC at 425 Madison Ave, Ste 1502, NY, NY.
Build, strengthen, and maintain strong client relationships with key stakeholders in client accounts, as well as Partners and other relevant stakeholders; Formulate strategies for employment law matters, demonstrating the capacity to present well-structured and concise arguments; Research state, federal, and local employment law issues and formulate solutions, including completion of appropriate documentation; Engage with clients at middle and senior management levels; Acquire in-depth expertise in sector-specific issues and effectively apply this knowledge to address and resolve client scenarios; Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing counsel to reach favorable outcomes for clients; Directly or indirectly supervise junior team members; Support Partners on client proposals and pitches, practice area business plans, and leading or taking part in RFPs where appropriate; Proactively identify and take part in marketing and business development opportunities; Draft or review state and federal pleadings, civil cover sheets, requests for judicial intervention; File court documents electronically in both federal and state ECF systems; Draft or review and approve of junior employees’ interrogatories and document requests and responses; subpoenas; substantive and procedural motions and responses to motions; mediation statements; and Discuss and correspond with court and opposing counsel regarding various litigation issues. Travel 10%. Teleworking permitted one day per week.
Requires a JD or LLM from accredited school of law or foreign degree equivalent in law. Two (2) years’ experience in position offered or as Associate Attorney at an employment law firm. Admitted to the Ohio state bar, in good standing. 2 years of the following skills are required: Preparing and drafting state and federal pleadings, civil cover sheets, requests for judicial intervention; Filing court documents electronically in both federal and state ECF systems; Preparing and monitor service of the complaints; Drafting and filing EEOC charges and responses; Drafting various correspondence and legal documents, including authorizations, deficiency letters, premotion letters; Drafting interrogatories and document requests and responses; Meeting, discussing and corresponding with clients regarding factual and litigation developments, next steps, preparation of timeline, damages, medical authorizations, witnesses and other evidence gathering, mitigation, discovery production, and settlement; Drafting and responding to subpoenas; Conducting legal research on various employment laws and procedural issues using, Lexis Nexis; Drafting memoranda of law and legal opinions, and keeping abreast of regulations and legal developments in the field of labor and employment law.
